We created lots of worksheets and resources to help people take part in Consequences. See below for further examples. The aim was that these helped you think and talk while drawing. You didn’t have to be able to draw – it was about doodling that helps to free the mind. The resources could be used alone, with friends and family and with groups. There was even packs that you can post between a group of friends.
Participants shared their drawings and words between 15th Aug and 15th Sept for inclusion on the website using #WhatAreTheConsequences on Instagram here.
All resources were FREE and could choose the one most suited to them.

I loved the envelopes. They felt really special. And the sticker on the front. There had been so much care taken, with the quality of the paper, the printing and folding. The instructions were clear and easy to follow in beautiful handwriting. It was a treat through the letterbox and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Consequences: Pass it on Pack
SORRY THE PASS IT ON PACKS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE
This was a bit like the game of Consequences where you start a drawing, pass it on to another person who adds to it and passes it on again. In this case, you had drawing and question instructions to help you get started. You could do the activity at home (alone, with friends or family) before posting to someone you know who then does the same. This could happen up to 3 – 4 times before it ends up back at Metal to feature in the exhibition.
We had 25 packs available. The packs included all necessary stamps, paper and instructions.
Includes:
- Information sheet
- Word sheet – to capture your discussions
- Drawing and questions prompts
- 2 x A2 drawing sheets
- Address Labels
- Stamps for passing / posting on
- Poster and flyer

It’s great fun adding to someone else’s drawing, you don’t have to decide where to start. You can’t spoil it, if you don’t like something you can change it. There are plenty of drawing prompts so you won’t get stuck and you can spend as long as you want on it. There are questions provided to think about as you work or talk about if you’re working with a friend or you can think your own question up.
